Barbara Joyce (Williams) Goodin

January 23, 1947 ~ March 1, 2017 (age 70) 70 Years Old

The Life Barbara Joyce Goodin Leaves Behind
On January 23, 1947, God perfectly created and brought into this world of His, a baby girl.  This baby girl would be the first child born to Mrs. Reatha Lee McMarion Gonzales and also born to the late Mr. Otis Williams.  She would become the stepdaughter to the late Mr. O. D. Gonzales Sr.  She would receive the name:  Barbara Joyce Williams.
Our dearest and beloved Barbara Joyce attended school in Bastrop, Texas.  She was raised in a Christian home where she received her first beginnings of knowing our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.  Soon after encountering who Christ really is, she professed a hope in Christ at an early age in her life.  She was baptized by the late Reverend A. H. Brown of Bethlehem Missionary Baptist Church of Bastrop, Texas.  Later in her life, she joined the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church under the leadership of the late Elder R. H. Howard.
In her life, Barbara Joyce had one daughter, Merita Williams.  She would go on to marry Thomas Loving in 1965 and to this union she had two sons:  Thomas Loving Jr. and Cornell Loving.   Later she would marry the late Arthur Goodin.
In Barbara Joyce’s lifetime, she was a business owner of a Group Home.  She lived her life to its fullest, but she never forgot her Savior.  In this life of hers, she grew sick in her body and spent long periods of time with illnesses.  While living in her earthly body, Barbara Joyce was a jewel to her family and a joy to the Lord.
On Wednesday evening, March 1, 2017, Barbara Joyce Williams Loving Goodin prepared herself as the Apostle Paul did:  “For I am now ready to be offered, and the time of my departure is at hand.  I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith:  Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day:  and not to me only, but unto all them also that love His appearing.”  2 Timothy 4:6-8.  God gave her, her wings and she flew away from the troubles of this world.  She is free at last. Barbara Joyce will be missed greatly by her family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, father, stepfather, grandparents, aunts, uncles, nephews and great grandson.
She leaves to cherish her memories:  Her 3 children, Merita Williams, Thomas Loving Jr. and Cornell Loving, her 6 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, her mother Reatha Lee Gonzales, her 4 sisters:  Reatha Thomas (Frederick) of Austin, Texas; Emma Jones (Harold) of Chesapeake, Virginia; Anna Fields (Pierre) of Pflugerville, Texas; Shannon Hall (Mario) of Hutto, Texas; 3 brothers:  Claude Moore (Ruth) of Austin, Texas, O. D. Gonzales Jr. (Ann) of Austin, Texas, Terry Gonzales (Judy) of Cedar Creek, Texas; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
