May 7, 1935 ~ June 4, 2017 (age 82) 82 Years Old

Gloria Faye Coleman was born in Kirtley, Texas on May 7th, 1935 to Lonnie Coleman and Myrtle Chaney Coleman.  Gloria was the second child of five children.  Gloria was a 1955 graduate of Mary A Brown High School in Smithville, TX.  At an early age she professed her faith to Jesus Christ and continued to serve the Lord as a dedicated member of Mr. Pilgrim Baptist Church.  Gloria served various roles at the church including reading the announcements and singing in the choir.  Gloria was a dedicated educator and worked for Smithville Independent School District & Head Start program for over 40 years retiring.  She loved her community, church, children and did all she could to give back to the community.  Gloria was a member of the Mary A Brown homecoming committee and was a dedicated to making each reunion more special than the last.

Gloria had a vibrant and bubbly spirit even in her older age.  She was very independent and loved to travel.  She loved meeting new people, she loved the atmosphere, and loved to have a good time.  You could always find Faye in the middle of the dance floor at family gatherings with a big smile encouraging all to join her.  She was always the life of the party and we know the real party is just getting started inside of the heavenly gates.

God opened the doors of Heaven on Sunday, June 4th, 2017 and peacefully called Gloria home from Saint Gabriel in Round Rock, Texas.  She was proceeded in death by the late James Elam, Sr., her parents, Lonnie and Myrtle Coleman, Sister; Glodene Thomas, Ester Mayberry and a brother, Lonnie Coleman, Jr.  Gloria's life will forever be cherished in the lives of her children: Ronald (Cyndi) Singleton of Hutto, TX, Christopher (Sue) Coleman of Schulenburg, TX, Kenneth (Lakeisha) Coleman of Shiner, TX, James (Alicia) Elam, Jr. of Smithville, TX, and Johnny Elam (Veronic) of Phoenix, AZ; Ten grandchildren (Brian, LaTonya, Paige, Justin, Kenneth, Dewan, Christen, Amaneice, Shamira, Christian, and Jade)  Seven great grandchildren, Sister, Samantha (Julius) Davis of San Antonio, Juluan of Phoenix, AZ, and a hose of devoted nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
