BLACHLY, Kari Jo Mother, daughter, sister, niece, aunt, and grandmother "Biggie", of Smithville, Texas, died peacefully in the comfort of her home Friday August 31st 2018. Kari Jo was born August 27th 1968, in Oklahoma City, and moved with her family to Austin shortly after. Kari worked as an optician and development consultant. She is fondly remembered as a loving friend, a fearless artist, a shrewd negotiator, and a rock and roll rebel. She is survived by her mother Kris Pyburn, her daughter, Morgan Kane Blachly (grandsons Hendrix Wyatt; and Cohen Kroth Mowatt), her brother, Richard Dallas "Bubba" Blachly (wife Jenny, children Kaitlyn and Connor), life partner, Chris 'Cappy" Potter, and a tribe of artists and friends throughout Smithville, Austin, California, and beyond. Kari Jo is pre-deceased by her father Thomas Merrill Blachly. She leaves behind an extended family of monumental proportions with hearts as big as Texas. A memorial will be held at the Flamingo Ranch, home of Stefanie Distefano, 402 Walker Street, Smithville, Texas 78957 on Saturday September 8th from 4-6pm, with an open-house CeLeBraTiOn of LoVE to follow.
