Rufus Jones

The sun rose Sept. 29, 1926 when a baby boy, Rufus was born 4th child.  attended public school in Bastrop County Texas. He professed a hope in Christ at an early age and was a member of the Shiloh Primitive Baptist Church. Brother Rufus Jones united in Holy Matrimony with Lareen Washington Jones to this union 4 Children 2 boys and 2 girls

The sun set for Brother Rufus Jones on September 22th, 2018 He caught the “Early Train to Glory. Because the Evening Train might be too late” He was preceded in death by his mother and father, one sister, five brothers, one Grand Daughter Debbie, and In-Laws.

Rufus leaves to cherish his precious memories, a supportive, loving and devoted wife of 66 years, Lareen Jones of Bastrop, Tx, his children Deloris (Roy) Williams, Willie Charles (Sandra) Jones of Bastrop Tx.  Reverend Rufus Jr (Pam) Jones of Smithville, Tx, and Louise (Earl) Simms of Texarkana Tx. One Sister-in-Law Nora Washington of Houston Texas. 15 grandchildren, 42 great grands, 13 great great grandchildren, host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
