Sam Houston Jr. was born September 8, 1934 in Bastrop, Texas to Sam and Anna Mabel Houston. He attended school in Corpus Christi and Bastrop. He served in the United States Army in the years 1954 to 1957. He married Eva Mae Burris and to this union 3 children were born. In 2010, he married Ms. Chris Jackson to who he remained married until his earthly departure. He is the Father of seven children.
He is preceeded in death by his parents, 2 children Marlene Houston and Gordon Perry Houston; 3 sisters Mamie L. Houston, Sally M. Williams, Johnnie M. Howard; and 2 brothers J. H. Houston and Marvin R. Houston.
He leaves to cherish his memories to loving wife of nine years Chris W. Houston; 5 children Barbara Washington, Betty Spead, Samuel C. Houston Jr, Maggie, Charlene Williams; nine grandchildren; 6 sisters and one brother; Ora J. Rance, Henrieta Faykus, Ella L. Lockridge (Willie), Delorice F. Franks (Hiawatha), Ruthie M. Houston, Arlene Adkins (Darrell) Willard Houston; two sisters-in-laws Belinda Jackson and Pamela Jackson; Brother-in-law Leon Jackson; 2 step-sons Trent Dickson and Dominic Dickson, a host of great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and friends.
