Glenda Gayle (Hackney) Ford

Glenda Gayle Ford, 65, of Bastrop went to the Lord on Friday, September 16, 2022. She was born April 28,1957 in Abilene,Texas to Paul and Mary Hackney.

Visitation will be 2:00pm, one hour prior to service. Services will be 3:00pm Friday, September 23, 2022 at Gipson Pendergrass People's Mortuary, 109 NW 1st St, Smithville with Dale Burke officiating. Burial will follow in Bastrop's Clearview Cemetery.

Glenda is survived by her husband of 28 years, Kirk Benedict Ford; three daughters, Anna Marie Parker and husband Robert Smith, Stephanie Ann Parker-Guajardo, Cassie Dwan Parker; her father, Paul Edward Hackney; a brother, Ricky Paul Hackney; one nephew,12 grandchildren,1 great grandchild and other family members and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mary Ida Hackney; a niece, Amanda Michelle Hackney.

Glenda loved her children  and grandchildren and always enjoyed spending time with her family. She was known for her southern cooking and warming hugs. She enjoyed chatting up a conversation with all around her. Whether you had known her for decades or just met her. She always had a positive and bright energy about her. She loved collecting hummingbird and seahorse decor, which she used to decorate her home with. 

Glenda especially will be remembered for her fiery spirit that served to strengthen everyone she met. She will be missed dearly by family and friends.
