Janet Kathryn (Greiner) Lamkin

Janet Kathryn Lamkin left this Earth Plane December 1, 2021, she was 90 years old. Janet graduated from Harbor High School where she met John Gilmour.  They married and together had 4 children. John died in 1967.  Janet went back to school, graduating from Texas Women University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Social Work, then into the work world where she helped spread her knowledge.  Later in life Janet reconnected with another high school classmate, Keith Lamkin.  They married in the 90’s and Janet opened her heart to Keith’s 4 children. Janet was an adventurous traveler, crossing the US for various birthdays, weddings and graduations, and also extensive foreign trips to Canada, China and Europe to name a few.  Janet was not afraid to drive, often behind the wheel of a big RV, plow truck, semi-truck, or a car or bus load of kids. Janet spent her summers in Northern Michigan.  She loved the outdoors, walking on the beach, swimming in chilly Lake Michigan and gardening. She enjoyed blessing her neighbors with local produce.  Janet was a member of the Farm Bureau where she had many cherished friends.  Winters were spent in North Padre Island where she hosted many family gatherings.  Janet was an active member of the Unity Church there.  Janet was proceeded in death by son, Bradly Gilmour, husbands John Gilmour and Keith Lamkin,  by her brother James Greiner and her great grandson Kason Uhl.  Janet is survived by siblings Sally (Raymond) Eby, William Greiner and Carolyn Lee, 3 children, Laurel Smith, Timothy Gilmour, and Diane (Mike) Dolan. 8 grandchildren, Brandy (Todd) Duncan, Ginger (Evert) Weilder, Karl Gilmour, Arron  Crawford (Brian), Nick (Jill) Gilmour, Jody Gilmour, Tristan Uhl, Kara Uhl,  9 great grandkids and many nieces, nephews, cousins, stepchildren and friends who loved her dearly. We wish you well Janet/Mom/Grandma. Although it was time for you leave this Earth plane, we will continue to love and miss you.
