Maurice Lavern Gipson Williams was born January 20, 1938, to Ola Mae and Bennie Gipson. She was called home Wednesday, April 6, 2022.
Maurice accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a young age. She was baptized at Colorado Missionary Baptist Church in Smithville, Texas as a young child.
Born and raised in Smithville, after shortly after graduating from Smithville Colored High School in 1955, she relocated to Houston, Texas where she remained until she received her wings.

Retirement did not slow her down. She continued to tend to the garden at home, assist with the care of her parents, until their passing, and be of assistance to the rest of her family.
Maurice is proceeded in death by her parents, her brothers Dewey and Lloyd and one sister, Roxy Lee.
She leaves to cherish her memory: Her husband, Donnell Davis, Sr., sons Harold Williams, Jr. and Donnell Davis, Jr., Sisters Betty M. Walker, and Ellazene Sampson (Herbert); brother Rev. Johnnie Lee Gipson (Belinda), sister-in-law Marie Clark, and many nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
