Melvin Charles Hyder was born in Bastrop, Texas on March 2, 1954 to Imogene Hyder. Melvin accepted Christ at an early age attending Lone Star Baptist Church (Shiloh) in Bastrop, Texas. He served faithfully during his years under the leadership of Reverend Aaron Taylor.
Melvin graduated from Bastrop High School. After graduating, Melvin started working in Bastrop.
Melvin was a faithful friend to many and an excellent confidant. His love was given unselfishly without hesitation. We can say that to know him, was to love him. He had a laugh that made you feel better and a smile that was infectious. Melvin will truly be missed by many family members. “We thank God” for our gift Melvin (Cheat) and all the beautiful memories we have shared.
In April 2011 Melvin moved to Atlanta, Georgia for a second chance in life. He enjoyed attending the Clayton Center in Jonesboro, Georgia where he regained his purpose in life. Melvin maintained faithful attendance until Covid 19 shut down the Country. On Friday, April 23, 2021, God embraced Melvin Charles Hyder in His loving arms and carried him to a place where pain and suffering would exist no more.
