Reginald Gipson Jr. Obituary

On Wednesday, August 12, 2020, Mr. Reginald Karl Gipson, Jr. was called to another home…a home not built by man, but a home that has been touched by the hands of the Lord.  It is a home that we all know as Heaven.  It is a place where he will never grow old.

Reginald Karl Gipson, Jr. was born on June 8, 1988 in Taylor, Texas to the marital union of Reginald Karl Gipson, Sr. and the late Theressa Ann Strait-Gipson.  He was the fifth child of six born to this union.  After his mother transitioned, when he was only one year old, he began his new life under the watchful eye of his sweet and loving aunt, Janice Elaine Gipson, who taught him the value of hard work, working with his hands, unconditional love, and the importance of having a relationship with the Lord.

Reginald had a pleasing personality, and his good sense of humor would always make others smile.  Reginald Karl Gipson, Jr.’s educational journey included Northside Elementary, T.H. Johnson, Taylor Middle School, and Taylor High School.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Theressa Ann Strait-Gipson; a brother, Marlon Karl Gipson; foster mom, Janice Elaine Gipson; maternal grandfather, Ervin Strait; maternal grandmother, Lula Mae Johnson-Strait; paternal grandfather, John Willie Gipson, Jr.; step-paternal grandfather, Sterling Simms; and paternal grandmother, Dorothy Sue Mitchell Gipson Simms.

He leaves to cherish his memory: one son, Reginald Karl Gipson, III, Austin, Texas; a loving father, Reginald Karl Gipson, Sr., Taylor, Texas; three sisters:  Deatrice Lasella Gipson, Taylor, Texas; Surran Devon Gipson, Taylor, Texas; Savannah Ann Gipson, Killeen, Texas; one brother, Jermaine Earl Gipson, Sr., Round Rock, Texas; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.

For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trumpet of God.  And the dead in Christ will rise first.
1 Thessalonians 4:16
