Tami Veal Obituary

After bravely battling cancer, Tami LaJoy Veal (née Clark) transitioned from this earthly world and into the arms of our Heavenly Father on January 18, 2022.

On December 1, 1970, in Austin, Texas, Tami LaJoy was blessed to the union of Tommy Lee Clark and Cheryl Ann Clark (née Meaderis). Tami made many journeys and accomplishments in her lifetime and positively affected the lives of her family and friends. She was a business woman, and always thinking of matters to improve herself and those she loved.

She attended schools in the Austin Independent School District, before moving to the Inglewood, California area during her high school years, where she graduated from Inglewood High school. She then went on to graduate with an Associate’s Degree from Long Beach State University in 1989. Later, Tami moved to Houston, Texas and attended the University of Houston in 1996, majoring in Political Science. She moved back to her birth city of Austin shortly afterward.

Tami loved sports, basketball especially; and she played on the basketball team during her school years. She loved traveling and being with friends, but made it a point to travel to Vegas with her husband, Bruce, whenever they found the time to get away. She loved watching sports, political news, and comedy. But she especially loved her one and only son, Phoenix Lee Freeman, and her husband, Bruce Veal, whom she described to others as her soul mate. Although Tami had family and friends that she dearly loved, these two people meant the world to her. She meant the world to them.

Preceding Tami in her transition is her mother, Cheryl Ann Mattingly, and her father, Tommy Lee Clark. She leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband, Bruce Veal, her adoring son, Phoenix Freeman, and her beloved sister, Maci Clark. She also leaves an abundance of close and affectionate family members and friends who are all saddened to say farewell so early in her life, but so happy to have had Tami in our lives. We thank God for His Gift of Tammy LaJoy Veal.  She will be missed and always remembered in our hearts and mind.
