Veronica Diane Ellis was born to Sophia and Elroy Williams on September 16, 1954 in Bastrop, TX.
She received her education from Bastrop High School where she graduated in 1972. After graduating, Diane continued her education at Lamar University with a focus in Mechanical Engineering in 1973. She then attended Texas Southern University and received a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology in 1976. And later, she pursued a career in education and attended St. Thomas University where she gained her Texas Teacher Certification in 1996. Diane followed her mother’s career path in wanting to make a difference in the lives of students who were serviced through the special education department. She taught at Caraway Intermediate School for three years and then finished her career at Mac Arthur High School in 2001.
Diane was a member of the Texas State Teachers Association, Greater Houston Area Reading Council and the American Institute for Design and Drafting.
Diane is survived by her father, Elroy Williams and nephew, Brandon Lenzy. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sophie Williams, and sister, Rosalyn Lenzy. She leaves to cherish her memory many family members and friends.
