On December 4, 1954 a daughter was born to Lorenzo V. Bajo and Herminigilda G. in Alcala, a municipality in the province of Pangasinan, Philippines. Virgie was the second child born into the family. Virgie attended and graduated high school in the Philiippines.
Virgie and Calvin Ray Bates met and fell in love while he was stationed at the U.S. Naval Base Subic Bay in the Philippines. In 1979 Virgie made her maiden voyage from the Philippines to Arlington, Texas. Soon after, Virgie and Calvin married and created a life-long courtship and eternal love. To this union three children were born. Virgie was a loving and dedicated mother to Randy, Calvin Jr, and Cornelius. They resided in Lancaster, Texas for 39 years, where Virgie was a domestic engineer who took great pride in her daily duties. In addition to being a loving mother to her 3 children, she was an amazing grandmother of 12 grandchildren.
Virgie was full of life and energy. She had an infectious smile that would brighten anyone’s day. Virgie loved to interact on Facebook, taking daily selfies, and sharing her passion for music. Additionally she had many other joys in this world; singing, crocheting, decorating, gardening, and eating Chinese food to name a few. She was a “people” person and went out of her way to help any family in need, extremely selfless. She gave everyone in her circle attention and affection that could not be measured, and likewise her family; mother and father, brothers and sisters, children and her one and only true love-her husband, all held her dearly. Like many people attempt to achieve she was a true inspiration to anyone she came in contact with.
Virgie leaves to cherish in her memory: sons: Randy, Calvin Jr, and Cornelius, 12 grandchildren, brothers: Ruben, Oscar, Nestor, George, and Noberto, sister: Marissa, sister-in laws: Helen Davis, Julia Smith, Kathy Jackson, Linda Mackingtee, Theresa Thomas, and Willie Parks, brother-in-laws: Jonah Bates, Kenny Bates, and Anthony Bates; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and a host of family and friends. Preceding her in death were mother and father and her beloved husband and soul mate Calvin Ray Bates
