Dora Lee Taylor was born in Bastrop County, April 25, 1930 to Hallie B. Williams and Wash Williams, Sr. She was raised and attended school in Bastrop County.
She married Andy C. Taylor on July 2, 1949. They were married for 49 years. He passed on November of 1998. One child born to this union that passed at birth.
Dora Lee Taylor was an active member of Greater Shilo Church of God and Christ for 57 years pastured by Rev. Daniel Roberson. Dora Lee served as Hospitality and a Sunday School teacher for many years. She moved back to Bastrop. December 2012 she joined Macedonia First Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor C.A. Williams.
She was preceded in death by her parents Hallie B. and Wash Williams, Sr.; her husband Andy C. Taylor; 3 brothers: Louis, James, and Wash Williams, Jr.; and 4 sisters Clotea Murry, Eliza Franklin, Inez Reed, and Alma Lee Alexander.
She leaves to mourn her 3 sisters: Naomi Hornsby, Georgia Nichilson, and Mamie Leonard; 2 brothers: Hilbert and Hubert Williams; her special friends Elder Charlie and Kimberly Jones (who she referred to as her adopted kids); also Dr. and Mrs. Ware; a host of cousins, nieces and nephews; and all of her friends from Corpus Christi over the years.
